SPYDER-MR medium-range surface-to-surface missile launcher Rafael has developed a medium-range version, the SPYDER-MR, with a range of over 35 km at altitudes from 20 m to 16 km. A typical SPYDER squadron consists of a mobile command and control unit (CCU) and four mobile fire units (MFU).

The CCU and MFU have their own power supply. The system includes an automated computer that helps operators successfully engage enemy targets in a tense battlefield environment. The mobile CCU has a surveillance radar and two operator stations. There is a radio data link between the CCU and the four MFUs.

The CCU combines local surveillance radar data with data from higher command and control centers up to 100 km away. It is also possible to receive weather pictures from other data links.

Truck-Mounted Missile Launcher The SPYDER uses a truck-mounted rocket launcher equipped with a communications system and a 360° rotating, electromechanically controlled, turret-based launcher. The SPYDER-SR launch unit carries any combination of Python 5 or Derby rockets.
